Titchy Linux

Debian GNU/Linux on the Zaurus SL-CXXXX and HTC Universal.

Introduction

I no longer have a Zaurus or a HTC Universal.

Zaurus support is currently completely broken. Try http://www.oesf.org/index.php?title=Debian/Zaurus instead.

HTC Universal support reportedly has a broken installer, due to a change in dpkg. You may have more luck with the instructions at http://sumoudou.org/index.php?cmd=Non-Sumou

If you have a patch for the broken installer, let me know.

Titchy Linux is a complete, fully-native Debian GNU/Linux distribution for the Zaurus SL-CXXXX series of PDAs and the HTC Universal mobile phone, and a phone stack including support for GPRS/UMTS internet access, SMS, and voice calls on the HTC Universal.

This is still a work in progress. You will need experience configuring and using Debian. On the HTC Universal, the cameras are not supported, and the wifi driver is unstable. However, everything else works well enough that my primary phone runs Titchy Linux.

There is a console-based phone UI, and a graphical phone UI is under construction.

See here for Debian support, and here for HTC Universal support.
